Update: Exxon valve project denied!
In a huge victory for Santa Barbara County, Exxon’s appeal to install valves in their corroded 901 and 903 pipelines was denied with Board Supervisors Das Williams and Laura Capps opposing the project, and Bob Nelson and Steve Lavagnino voting in support of it.
If our experience in protecting our lands and waters has taught us anything it’s that Big Oil doesn’t go down without a huge fight. We expect to see more coming from Exxon but for now we celebrate this incredible win for the environment!
